Brinkly Family Update_ God's Faithfulness
Friends and Family,
We have made it past the first quarter in VLE and because of the rising cases in Kenya will continue that course until January. We wanted to update you on what has been happening with us in Kenya.
One key phrase for us since coming back has been God’s Faithfulness. Hebrews 10:23 states “Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who is promised is faithful.” So how has God been faithful.
1. FINANCIALLY: Despite a significant pay cut God has provided in great ways, although not as we expected. Although we received a few donations from family, God has met our needs in other ways allowing us to meet our obligations and care for our family as well. We are not always sure how HE does that, but he has.
2. FAMILY- Beth has been cleared for a trial with new medicine for her RA. She gets one month free after we pay for one month. Although more expensive than the states, we are hopeful this will ease her pain. (See the prayer request below). Our oldest son Noah received GREAT GRACE from God during his recent court hearing (the lawyer said 1000/1). He has moved to a facility that will help him work on his addictions and give him job training. God was faithful to provide the best outcome possible. Finally, Klever is continuing to work and learn to live life on his own for which we are grateful.
3. FAITH- Beth continues to lead worship regularly at our church. It brings her great joy, and she excels in helping others worship the Lord. I (David) got to preach recently at a church in Thika (a town an hour away) which was a blessing. In the busy time of VLE I was grateful. Finally, my work on my D.MIN is almost complete and I look forward to how the project goes these last two months.
We are walking examples that God is faithful to his promises. We look forward to how he will reveal that faithfulness in the coming months.
PRAYER REQUESTS
1. Pray for our teaching VLE and the opportunity we have to impact students with the Gospel. Pray especially for students that struggle with this form of learning. Pray for those students who are unbelievers that they would hear the truth and be drawn to Jesus.
2. Pray for opportunities to be a witness and example in the community and that we could join what churches are doing to assist those in need physically and spiritually.
3. Pray for Klever (see above) as he lives in his own.
4. Pray for Noah as he works and does the hard work of the program that he is participating in. Pray he would continue to turn to and trust God in this process.
