God has really blessed the ministry of a Ugandan pastor over the past 10 years. Bugiri Baptist Church has grown from 5 adult members in 2006 to now having over 250 adults and 300 children in worship and Bible study each week. Pastor George, as he is known to everyone, has a true heart for spreading the gospel in Uganda. By God's grace and under Pastor George's leadership, Bugiri Baptist Church also has planted 5 new churches in that part of Uganda, which is centered in Bugiri Rural District, east of Jinja. Recently, Pastor George accepted the call to be the Regional Overseer for all Baptist churches in the Busoga Region of Uganda. This region is comprised of a large area in eastern Uganda in which nearly 200 Baptist churches are located. Pastor George is responsible for helping these churches develop strategies to penetrate each of their local communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ. As each of these churches grows and its Christian members mature, they will become agents for positive change in the spiritual, social, and cultural fabric of their communities as a result of Christian redemption and a growth in Christian life values. In order for Pastor George to fulfill his God-given responsibilities in the Busoga region of Uganda, he is in desperate need of a vehicle to enable him to visit each of the churches for which he has been called to provide oversight. The cost to purchase the needed vehicle is $20,000 US dollars. The rural churches of the Busoga region don't have cash to help purchase this vehicle. They support their pastors by giving them eggs, fruit, vegetables, or handiwork. Since car dealerships don't sell cars in exchange for produce, Christians living in a non-cash-based economy are left to the generosity and know-how of Christians who live in a cash-based economy. This is why we are asking for monetary contributions on Pastor George's behalf. By contributing, you will be furthering the effort to equip and build the Church in Uganda. Therefore, we are praying that God will put it on the hearts of many through Kingdom Footprints to donate the money necessary to provide Pastor George the transportation he so critically needs."
